Andrew Clarke
President, CEO and Director
As President, CEO and Director, Mr. Clarke is focused on driving revenue growth and enhancing profitability for Panther Expedited Services, while increasing customer satisfaction and driver retention, and deepening client relationships. Mr. Clarke became Panther’s CEO in April 2007, and is Panther’s senior executive overseeing both strategic decisions and day-to-day operations. He joined Panther in 2006 as its President, bringing a wealth of experience from the transportation industry. Prior to Panther, he served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Director of Forward Air Corporation, a non-asset based provider of time-definite ground transportation services to the air cargo industry. From 1998 to early 2000, Mr. Clarke was as an investment banker with Deutsche Banc Alex Brown in their Global Transportation Group. Mr. Clarke is also a director of Pacer International, Inc., a $2 billion non-asset based 3PL and intermodal freight transportation provider. Mr. Clarke received his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, and obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Roy Showman
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Showman, Panther’s Chief Financial Officer, previously served as the company’s Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining Panther, Mr. Showman was employed by General Electric for nearly seven years in a variety of assignments, including Chief Financial Officer for GE Quartz in Strongsville, Ohio, and several financial roles of increasing responsibility within GE’s Aircraft Engines Division. Mr. Showman also spent two years at Cincinnati Milacron as the Controller of their Milpro Division, and six years with Deloitte & Touche LLC in the audit function. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in accounting and earned his Masters in Business Administration from Xavier University. Mr. Showman is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio.
Edward Wadel
Chief Information Officer
Mr. Wadel served as Vice President of Information Technology since February 2006 and assumed the title of Chief Information Officer later that same year. For 13 years he served as an onsite consultant and was accepted as an integral part of the senior management team. Mr. Wadel has been engaged in the IT consulting business since 1987 and has almost 20 years experience in the field. Prior to joining Panther, he worked or consulted for BP Oil, Timken-Latrobe Steel, and Tillinghast. Mr. Wadel obtained his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University.
James Adams
Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Mr. Adams brings more than 17 years of product development, marketing and sales experience to Panther. Throughout his career, Mr. Adams has successfully combined in-depth quantitative analysis with practical business experience to develop leading-edge products and services, implement best-in-class operations and launch winning marketing and sales initiatives. Prior to joining Panther, Mr. Adams was Director of Product Development at Brunswick Corporation, a Fortune 500 company with a leadership position in the marine industry. He has also served as Managing Director at Qorvis Communications in Washington, D.C., and a Management Consultant at Pittiglio Rabin Todd and McGrath (PRTM), a global management consulting firm serving Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Adams began his career as a Global Product Manager at 3M Corporation, a leader in bringing innovation to the market place. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Honors from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.
Michael Clark
Executive Vice President, Operations
Mr. Clark joined Panther in July of 2008 as Operations leader. Prior to joining Panther, Mr. Clark held senior supply chain management positions at a number of industry-leading transportation companies. Most recently he spent 6 years at Exel, a large third-party logistics company, where he served as VP of Transportation of the America’s. Previous appointments include key operational and strategy roles both in the United States and Europe at FedEx Supply Chain Services, Shiplogix, and Roberts Express/FedEx Custom Critical. Mr. Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hiram College.
